The scrumptious little bites are so moreish and pack a lot of flavor - and they're naturally sweetened with date syrup!
Have these in little bowls around the New Year's table or scattered over your charcuterie board to compliment your cheeses and veggies!
Ingredients
- ¼ cup LIVA Date Syrup
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 8 oz Pecans
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract (OR sub for 1 tsp of cayenne if you want to go spicy!)
- ½ tsp Himalayan salt
Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Prepare a baking tray with parchment paper or a silicone sheet.
Mix the coconut oil and LIVA Date Syrup in a microwaveable bowl or jug, and microwave for a few seconds to melt.
Add the cinnamon powder, smoked paprika, vanilla extract (or cayenne if making the spicy version) and Himalayan salt to the syrup mixture, mix until everything is combined.
Add the mixed nuts to a clean bowl.
Pour the syrup mixture over the pecans and mix until the nuts are all well coated.
Transfer the nuts to the baking tray and spread out evenly using a spatula or wooden spoon.
Bake in the oven for about 15 - 20 minutes until they are crunchy (we recommend checking around the 12 minute mark also).
Using oven gloves, remove the tray from the oven and carefully slide the parchment paper with the nuts off of the baking tray onto a heat proof chopping board. Leave the nuts to cool.
Once cool, serve or store in an airtight container until needed.
