Honestly always saw the brand at the store and never had any Idea what kind of sweetner it was. But the concept of dates enhancing my dishes is very intriguing, especially knowing the benefits it comes with. Will have the try the syrup version next.
I enjoy the flexibility of using this on anything. it's a great option to use on breakfast for a better source of sweetness and taste. I also love the colorful packaging

Liva Date Sugar is a great alternative to refined sugar and it's made from 100% organic dates with no added ingredients, which I found really interesting! I didn't know that was possible! What also surprised me about this product was that it offers fibre and essential minerals, so it's a more nourishing option for everyday use. It's easy to incorporate into baking, cooking, and smoothies, it’s a thoughtful upgrade for anyone looking to sweeten their meals more naturally. I was told that you shouldn't mix it into drinks though, which is a bummer because I would love to make a lemonade with this!

Liva date sugar is a simple better for you swap since its not processed or refined like regular sugar. I didnt find a difference in the sweetness as compared to regular sugar and the best part is it can be used in almost every dish that calls for sugar. Great for anyone trying to avoid refined sugar while still wanting to enjoy their favourite foods
I love the health benefits of this date sugar: It's high in fiber, potassium, magnesium,
and it's low glycemic. For that reason, I think it makes a great sugar substitute. I also love that this is made with just one ingredient - organic dates and is made in Canada. And it tastes good. It's not quite as sweet as regular sugar, which I like. It tastes different and I'm fine with it. I actually enjoyed the taste of it. What I didn't like was the texture. It is a fine powder on its own but once you add it to things, it has a mind of it's own. I tried adding it to tea and coffee but it just doesn't mix well. It ends up clumping and not wanting to dissolve into the hot liquid and just floats at the top. I tried using it in a recipe for a chocolate sauce and it just thickened and texturized the sauce, making it less smooth. I did try the sauce after leaving it in the fridge overnight and it was a little bit better but still had a slight gritty. I finally landed on a mug cake recipe where the texture of the sugar wasn't as noticeable. So I would suggest using this sugar in baking and cooking in recipes where you don't need the consistency to be smooth. I really really wanted to love this sugar but I feel like it fell short you can't add it to tea or coffee and you have to be mindful of what recipes you're cooking. For that reason I can't recommend it as in absolute substitute for refined sugar. But, if you're looking for a substitute for refined sugar for baking and perhaps cooking, this does seem like a nice, sustainable and healthy alternative.
